At our meetings we welcome abstracts from all trainees, the staff and associate specialists, and medical students. All abstracts accepted for Oral presentation are published in “The Otorhinolaryngologist” journal, so please ensure the abstracts are well constructed!
Please note that as a regional meeting we can only accept abstracts from those who are actively practising our region or indeed those whose work originates from our region.
The abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster the of the presentation
The best oral presentations, poster presentations, and presentation in any form by a medical student (as first author) are awarded the prestigious North of England prize
Best Oral Presentation at the Meeting – £250
Best Poster Presentation at the Meeting – £100
Best Presentation by a Medical Student (must be first author) £50 (or a higher award if they win one of the above 2 categories.
All abstracts must be submitted in the following format and be 250 words maximum. They should be a summarised representation of the paper and be suitable for publication in themselves. A proposal of results to be collected is not acceptable. (so get the projects completed or wait for the next meeting!)
Those accepted for poster presentation must conform to the following size of an A1 poster (84.1cm x 59.4) and be displayed in landscape form. All posters at this meeting will be displayed electronically, there is no need to get posters printed. BUT please submit all posters as powerpoint slides and NOT as PDF’s or any other package. If not they will be rejected and the poster withdrawn.
